Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American actor and musician who made her name with smart raps that addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a an edgy, comical perspective. Then she branched out into Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was through trumpet. Apart from classical music and jazz, the young Nora began studying hip-hop in her teens. In college, she studied journalism and women's studies. She even spent some time learning Mandarin during her time in Beijing. She turned her attention towards music after she completed her degree. The My Vag song, My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a popular viral sensation on the Internet and was later featured on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained viral hits including body-positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$. The latter song was linked directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC A travel guide that was released in the year 2015. After a successful career as a performer She decided to take on the role of actor. Alongside early TV shows that included Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in the movies Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land major roles in a variety of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
